by Amy

The 76th annual conference of the Cardiological Society of India (CSI) concluded in Lucknow on Sunday, with prominent cardiologists from across the globe discussing key issues related to heart disease, its symptoms, and advancements in treatment.

Dr. Rakesh Yadav, a specialist from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, emphasized the growing impact of obesity on heart health. He revealed that one in three people worldwide suffers from obesity, a condition increasingly linked to sedentary lifestyles. “Obesity leads directly to heart attacks, high cholesterol, and diabetes,” Dr. Yadav warned. He advised anyone with a body mass index (BMI) over 27 to be cautious, noting that the ideal BMI for adults is considered to be around 24.9.
