Drs. Anuradha Lala-Trindade & Robert J. Mentz Appointed as Co-Editors-in-Chief of Journal of Cardiac Failure

The Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA) has appointed Dr. Anuradha Lala-Trindade and Dr. Robert J. Mentz as Co-Editors-in-Chief of the Journal of Cardiac Failure (JCF). This announcement was made on September 17, 2024, and marks a significant leadership change for the official journal of HFSA and the Japanese Heart Failure Society.

Dr. Mentz is an Associate Professor of Medicine and the Chief of the Heart Failure Section at Duke University. He has been an established trialist in heart failure at the Duke Clinical Research Institute and has served as the Editor-in-Chief of JCF since December 2020.

Dr. Lala-Trindade is the Director of Heart Failure Research at The Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital. She also serves as the Program Director for the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Fellowship and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Population Health Science and Policy. Dr. Lala has held the position of Deputy Editor at JCF since December 2020.

In a joint statement, Drs. Mentz and Lala-Trindade expressed their enthusiasm for their new roles, stating, “Working together to bring JCF to new heights in service of our broader community has been one of the most rewarding experiences of our professional and personal lives.” They emphasized their commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within their editorial leadership.

Their official appointment as Co-Editors-in-Chief took effect on September 1, 2024.
